Film Studies–Rough cut and Final cut due dates
ROUGH CUT EDIT FOR DOCUMENTARY ISP
DUE TO BE SHOWN IN CLASS, MONDAY, NOV. 16 (NOT DOWNLOADED IN CLASS!)
Your rough cut edit should run at the approximately same length of your final cut, illustrating the following elements:
-documentary story/narrative with conflict
-well constructed interviews
-creative cut-aways
-effective framing and camera angles
-discernable characters or character
-a creative and effective opening sequence
A rough cut edit is designed for you to obtain feedback to better sharpen your final product in terms of editing choices, music and narration. You should not need to shoot any more footage after Nov. 16th!
A rough cut edit does NOT have to contain: final music choices, final credits, entire voice-over narration (if applicable)
Your final edit copy is due: MONDAY, NOV. 30TH, 2009
THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS FOR EITHER THE ROUGH CUT OR FINAL EDIT—UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, SO BE SURE YOUR EQUIPMENT AND EDITING FACILITIES ARE IN WORKING ORDER OR THAT YOU ASK SEAN FOR ASSISTANCE. DO NOT WAIT TO THE LAST MINUTE TO EDIT YOUR FILM!
